I took a long weekend to get to know some of Minas Gerais, the state in which I now live. I went to a couple of well-known destinations. Serra do Cipó is a sleepy village near a national park where you can do lots of hiking to waterfalls. Embarrassingly, I didn't get to see any waterfalls. It had rained a lot before I got there and the rivers could not be crossed on the hike. Diamantina is a famous old colonial town.
It was a lot of hiking in Serra do Cipó, lot's of eating fruits off trees, lots of highways, lots of dirt roads, lots of beer sidewalk bars in Diamantina. ♦
