I recently went to do eight days of training at a mine near La Paz in Baja California Sur state, Mexico.  If you ever get a chance to go there please do.  It was a beautiful place.  The temperature usually around 38 - 40 degrees and I drank beer and ate ceviche almost every damn day.

The client had me working evening shifts so I had almost every morning free to explore and take pictures.  I took the bus to a couple of local beaches:  Balandra and Tecolote.  Balandra is a circular beach with a huge shallow bay.  The water is only up to your waist at the deepest point.  You can sit/stand out in the middle of the bay and watch the pelicans dive-bomb into the water around you.  At Tecolote beach they've built it up so that there are restaurants, bars, jet ski rentals, and boat rides.

The one thing I did not take the time to do is visit the Isla Espíritu Santo.  It's a big, uninhabited island just off the shore of the city.  Maybe next time if I ever get back.  ♦
